- The spare tire J-bolts are done and ready for sale.  Click here for more information.

14 June 2009

- I'm in the process of fabricating the tooling for making 1968 Mustang CJ resonators (inc Shelby GT500KR).  These resonators are specific to 1968 CJs and were not used in 1969, and are different from the 2-inch resonators.  They will be finished and available late summer.

- The tailpipe band clamps should be finished this week.  These are the dual-width clamps that hold the tailpipes to the J-hook.  They are identical to the originals in every way.  Stamped and formed just like the originals.  "P" and "9A" stamped into the clamp, and dark phosphate indented-head screw.  This is the only truly concours correct clamp available for Mustangs with 2.25-inch exhaust.

- The spare tire J-bolts are at the platers and should be done this week.  There are 4-variants available that cover Mustangs, Shelbys, and Boss from 1968 - 1970.  Made from original Ford drawings and exactly like the originals.  Check the "Items for Sale" section for applications and pricing.

4 May 2009 - The 1969/1970 Boss 302 Mustang H-pipes are finished.  For details on their fabrication and features click here.  They are available in bare steel (like the originals) or aluminized pipe.  Made using original assembly line parts as patterns.  Exactly like the originals.

I now gladly accept MasterCard, VISA, and Discover credit & debit cards.

13 May 2009 - Resonator/intermediate pipes for 1967 & 1968 Mustangs (inc Shelby GT-500 & GT-350) with dual-exhaust are in fabrication and I should have pipes finished and ready to ship around the 1st of July.  These pipes will be available in bare steel (like the originals) or aluminized pipe.  Price will be similar to the other resonator pipes I have available, but I don't know the final price yet.

I'm in the process of making the hangers, brackets, and clamps for installing the Mustang exhaust systems that I sell.  It's a slow process and I'm currently working on the band clamp that holds the tailpipes to the J-hook.  All the hardware will be fabricated exactly like the originals complete with stamped Ford/FoMoCo logos where appropriate.

The remaining variants of the Mustang spare tire J-bolt are in final fabrication and should be finished in the next couple of weeks. These include variants B, C, and D.  Click here for pictures of the different variants.  Variant A is finished and available.

3 April 2009 - The 1969/1970 Shelby GT-500 tailpipes are finished.  Exact copies of the original assembly line parts.  Fabricated from 2.25-in O.D. aluminized tubing (mandrel bent), and reduced on each end just like the originals.  Ford logo and part numbers stamped in each pipe.  Ready to ship.  Click here for more details, price, and ordering information.

I have also completed another run of 1968.5 Shelby/Mustang tailpipes.  I was out of these for about 6-months, but I have them back in stock now.

10 March 2009 - The spare tire J-bolts for 1968 Mustangs and Shelbys are finished.  Price is $14.95 + shipping.  I should have 3-other J-bolt variants done in about 4-weeks.  Made from original Ford engineering drawings.  This is the only concours-correct reproduction of this spare tire J-bolt being made.  Rolled threads (not cut) like the originals, flattened end, and factory-correct  plating.

1 March 2009 - I'm now in the H-pipe business.  You can now get a perfectly reproduced, 100% accurate copy of the H-pipe that originally came on your Shelby, Boss, and Cobra Jet Mustang.  Copied from original assembly line H-pipes...no guessing based on bend card information or service parts...only known assembly line parts were used as examples.

The H-pipes that I will soon have available are for the following applications:

  • 1968.5/1969 Cobra Jet/Super Cobra Jet Mustangs and Shelbys
  • 1969/1970 Boss 429 Mustang
  • 1969/1970 Boss 302 Mustang

H-pipe Features Include:

  • Correct diameter tubing (2.25-inch for CJ and Boss 429, 2.50-inch for Boss 302)
  • Exact copy of flanges (no elongated holes)
  • Clearance flats in pipes in correct locations...just like the originals
  • Alignment tabs or stop tabs where appropriate
  • Correct diameter crossover tube
  • Correct heat-riser tube (mandrel bent)...just like the originals (Boss 429 only)
  • Pipe-within-a-pipe at H-pipe inlet to support and center exhaust donut (ex Boss 302)

H-pipes will be available in aluminized pipe or bare steel (like the originals).

For the first time ever you can now purchase a Concours Correct end-to-end exhaust system.  Everything from H-pipe to exhaust tips is now available through this website...including the exhaust clamps.

I hope to have production H-pipes ready to ship in mid March.

19 February 2009 - I've just finished making a very limited run of 1969/1970 Shelby GT-350 tailpipes and adapters.  These are the pipes that go between the transverse muffler and exhaust collector.  They are just like the originals.  If you need a pair, get them now, I don't have plans to make another run.  Click here for more details on the new tailpipes.

10 February 2009 - I've decided to reproduce the 1968 Mustang Spare Tire J-Bolt used on all 1968 Mustangs and Shelbys.  Click here for pictures of an original, the 1st prototype (not quite good enough), and 2nd (final) prototype prior to plating.  They are made using original Ford engineering drawings and confirmed using original pieces.  They are indistinguishable from the originals.  Rolled threads (not cut), flattened ends, and formed per Ford drawing specifications.  I should have them completed and ready for sale in 3-weeks.

24 January 2009 - The 1969 triple-hump resonators pipes are finished and ready for purchase.  These resonators are correct for 1969 CJ/SCJ Mustang (including Mach 1), 1969/1970 Shelby GT-500 (CJ/SCJ), 1969 Boss 302, and 1969 Boss 429.  Click here for more details and ordering information.

10 January 2009 - The 1969 triple-hump resonators pipes have been bent and checked in the "check fixture" for accuracy.  The pipes still need to have the ends swaged and alignment tabs attached prior to welding the resonator to the pipes.  I should have completed pipes ready to ship by the end of January.
